'I baptise you in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit'.

Everyone is welcome to be baptised (christened), or have their children baptised, in their parish church.  There are around 10,000 babies and children baptised in the Church of England every month, but we also welcome adults who want to be baptized. Your child is precious to you and precious to God. At Baptism you make a decision to start your child on a journey of faith. The church and the godparents support the family and the child in this decision.

‘I now proclaim you are husband and wife. Those whom God has joined together let no one put asunder.'

Today more than a quarter of all marriages in England take place before God in the traditional setting of a Church of England church. You're welcome to marry in church whatever your beliefs, whether or not you are baptised and whether or not you go to church. It is very easy to get married in your local church. Help in planning your wedding can be found here.

‘Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust: in sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life'

A funeral marks the close of a human life on earth. It is the opportunity for friends and family to express their grief and to give thanks for the life which has now completed its journey in this world. Clergy are available and willing to conduct the funeral of your loved one in church and/or the Crematorium.
