If you are enquiring here because of family bereavement, we understand that this will be a difficult time for you and your family. Conducting funerals and offering care for bereaved people are very important to us at St Mary’s Church Eastham. If we can help, please get in touch. Email or telephone our Parish Priest, Rev’d Beth Glover on 0151 327 2182 or email beth.stmarys@gmail.com
We are able to offer care, support and sympathy to families through this difficult time of losing someone close to them.
God’s love and power extends over all creation. Every life is precious to God. Christians have always believed that there is hope in death as in life, and that there is new life in Christ.
Our ministers work closely with funeral directors to ensure that the wishes of the families are taken into account. We aim to ensure that funeral services reflect the life of the deceased as a unique individual.
Memorial Services
Memorial services of remembrance are arranged with bereaved families and friends in mind. They aim to give people an opportunity to remember loved ones who have passed away, providing an opportunity to pray and bring grief before God and receive His comfort.
At these services, people may choose to have the names of decreased loved ones read out; to have their names entered in a book of remembrance and to light a candle in their memory.
Whether a bereavement is recent or was some time in the past, it can be comforting to we remember that. “The LORD is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
In 2024 we have memorial services planned at 6.00 pm on the following Sundays:
- Sunday 14th July
- Sunday 3rd Nov All Souls Service
