Tuesday Talks for Lent
Tuesday Evenings During Lent 7.00 – 8.00 pm continuing on Tuesday 28th February
CTBE – (Churches together in Bromborough and Eastham) have organised a series of Tuesday talks for Lent which will be held in Bromborough Methodist Church, Allport Lane, Bromborough, Wirral CH62 7HW. Each talk will be given by a different minister or representative from one of the churches within the CTBE group.
On Friday 8th March Christ the King are inviting the St Mary’s congregation to join them for Stations of the Cross at 11.15 am in their Church. This is a traditional meditation on the last day of Jesus’ life and will include prayers for Christian Unity. Everyone is invited to a Lenten lunch afterwards
CTBE seeks to promote links between different local churches. Anglican, Methodist, Roman Catholic and United Reformed Churches are encouraged to pray, worship and study together.

6pm Palm Sunday Choral Worship 🎶 with our excellent Choir.

7.00 pm Monday 25th March at St Mary’s Parish Church
Journeying with Jesus with food for the journey. A reflective service with a focus on Jesus for the beginning of Holy Week. Movement, reflection and hope, both inside and outside our church!
7.00 pm Tuesday 26th March at St Peter’s Chapel Brookhurst Close
Holy Week Service. 🙏 A prayerful and informal healing and wholeness service including soup🥣, bread 🥖and time to be together.
6.30 pm Wednesday 27th March at the Church Centre (Chapel of the Holy Spirit) in Eastham Rake
Reflections for Holy Week There will be a bring and share meal between 6.30 and 7.00 pm, followed by a service with reflections, prayers🙏 and music 🎶based on the words of Jesus himself 💜.
7.00 pm Maundy Thursday 28th March at St Mary’s Parish Church
Holy Communion with handwashing. We commemorate Jesus’ last evening with his disciples and his commandment to us to love and serve each other. After the service comes the solemn stripping of the church of all its ‘trappings’ to reflect on Jesus’ isolation as he faced the cross.
Good Friday 29th March at St Mary’s Parish Church
10.00 am Good Friday Family Service.
Family worship a reflective time for adults with crafts and activities for children. It is a joint act of worship with St David’s URC.
Followed by refreshments with hot cross buns and chocolate.
2.00 pm Good Friday – The Final Hour ✝️ 💜.
We spend an hour quietly meditating on the unconditional love of God for us.
Easter Sunday 31st March (He is Risen!) at St Mary’s Parish Church
10.00 am St Mary’s Parish Church, Easter Holy Communion, followed by sparkling wine and cake.
11.00 am Easter Sunday Communion with festive refreshments at St Peter’s, Brookhurst Close.
Regular Church Events
Little Gems 👩👧👨👩👧Playgroup Tuesdays 9.30 am – 11.00 am at the Church Centre in Eastham Rake.
This is our carers’ and toddlers’ stay and play group. It’s an informal friendly playgroup group which runs in term time only. Dads, mums, grandparents & childminders are all welcome. Next session: Tuesday 27th February.
CAMEO (Come and Meet Each Other)
Tuesdays 2.00 pm at the Church Centre in Eastham Rake.
This is a friendly meeting place for the people of Eastham and locality, particularly for senior citizens. Come along for a cuppa and cake. Entertainment includes: bingo, singalongs, visiting speakers and entertainment groups. Next session: Tuesday 27th February.

Place of Welcome Wednesdays from 11:15 am to 2.00pm at St Mary’s Parish Church
The church is open each week as a place of welcome 💒 to anyone who wants to pop in for a friendly chat, a drink and a light snack, for example, beans on toast. You don’t have to be a churchgoer – everyone is welcome and it is free. If you like, you can bring your knitting, or play scrabble, or bring along other hobbies and share them with us. Next session: Wednesday 28th February.
Meet and Eat at the Church Centre in Eastham Rake. On the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
Soup and a sweet are served free of charge. This is followed by bingo. Everyone is welcome. Next Meeting: Friday 11.30 am 23rd February.
Church Open for Prayer 🙏
The church is open every Friday and Saturday between 11.00 am and 2.00 pm.
The church is open for people to look around and as a quiet space for private prayer and contemplation.

Free Easter Egg Hunt & Picnic
There are eggs to be found, hidden inside our beautiful church. Book places for your children on Eventbrite when the link goes live a week before the event.
On the day, call in and hunt for eggs between 11.30am and 1.30pm. Bring along your sandwiches for the picnic and we will provide drinks and cakes for everyone.
Every child will take away a goodie bag which will include a chocolate egg and Easter activities.
