Saturday 8th August Hour of Prayer 

11.00 – 12 noon at St Mary’s Parish Church 

Barbara Chambers will be leading an hour of prayer following the Fellowship of Contemplative Prayer pattern. It involves taking a close look at a passage of scripture and times of silence and contemplation. We hope that it will be a refreshing time of encouragement and spiritual strengthening. 

Friday 21st August  🌳 Children’s Creation Celebration in Eastham Woods🪾

To celebrate God’s beautiful creation, St Mary’s Church have arranged a designated space for children and families in Eastham Woods on the 21st August, from 11 am to 1pm, with our children’s team.

This year we have decided on a Teddy Bears’ Picnic, where families are encouraged to bring their own picnic and rug. Various activities include making rainbow wands, pinecone bird feeders and animals, animal leaf pictures, colouring in sheets and songs with musical instruments.

The event is free but places will be limited and booking is essential. Sunday 30th August 11.00 am for 11.15 am

Back to School Service 📚🍎✏️at St Mary’s Parish Church

This will be a short, relaxed service aimed at children and their families to mark the occasion of children and young people going back to school and joining new classes. It will include, 🎶 songs,  🥁 musical instruments for all, 🙏 prayers, crafts, fun, drinks, cake 🍰and a whole lot more. The service will be led by Diane, one of our lay ministers. It will include a blessing of the pupils and their school bags🎒and pencil cases if they have them and want to bring them. 

Free refreshments will be served from 11.00 am. The service starts at 11.15 am.


Bible Study 7.00 pm on Wednesdays in September  – Bible Study at the Church Centre (The Chapel of the Holy Spirit in Eastham Rake) 

The group will meet for 4 successive Wednesdays in September  (9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th) in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit on Eastham Rake at 7.00 pm. We will be looking at selected extracts from the Book of Isaiah, exploring the prophecies and promises of this intriguing and inspiring book. 

The sessions will be led by Nikki Matthews and Diane Green. Tea & coffee will be provided.


Wirral Heritage Weekend Friday 11th – Sunday 13th September

St Mary’s will be one of the venues for the Wirral Heritage Open Days. St Mary’s Church will be open for visits with some historical infomrtaion provided:

  • Friday 11 September:1000-1600
  • Saturday 12 September:1000-1600
  • Sunday 13 September:1200-1600

Sunday 13th September 6.00 pm Evensong in St Mary’s Parish Church

A lovely traditional service of evensong 🎼with our accomplished church choir, accompanied at the organ by our own Malcolm Perry.


Sunday 4th October 6.30 pm Churches ⛪️💒⛪︎ Together Harvest Celebration Service

 at Bromborough Methodist Church, 175 Allport Ln, Bromborough, Wirral CH62 7HW.

St Mary’s is a member of Churches Together in Bromborough and Eastham (CTBE); local Methodist, Anglican, Roman Catholic and United Reformed Churches are all involved. They have organised this service. 

Sunday 18th October at St Mary’s Parish Church

🎶 2.30 pm 90th Birthday Concert Showcasing the Music of Malcolm Perry

Our accomplished church organist, Malcolm Perry, is organising this very special birthday concert which will include brass, organ, piano and choral music It will be a musical feast with some very special guests!

There will be a retiring collection and all monies raised will go towards the fund to replace the organ blower to keep St Mary’s organ in working order.

Memorial Services in St Mary’s Parish Church are planned for:

Memorial services are an opportunity to remember loved ones who have passed away, to light a candle, to hear a scripture, sing hymns and to receive God’s comfort. Our memorial book is available to view and refreshments are served after the service.

  • 6.00 pm Sunday 1st November 2026
  • 6.00 pm Sunday 7th February 2027

St Mary’s Parish Church Open for Prayer 🙏 & Visits

The church is open every Friday and Saturday between 11.00 am and 2.00 pm for people to look around and as a quiet space for private prayer and contemplation.
